Relationship with Food
What we eat and drink is a vital part of staying alive and is essential for everyday living, we need to be fueled to survive. However, the relationships we as humans, have with food can be intricate and complex. This is because what we consume/do not consume can have physical and psychological impact to our health. Certain foods high in calories, salt, fat and sugar, can increase the chances of getting heart disease, strokes and type 2 diabetes. Furthermore unhealthy consumption either over or under eating, or not receiving enough nutrients from our diet, can make factor into causes for depression and other mental health conditions.
When we are faced with stressful situations, it is common for our minds to go into survival mode, and to seek a lot high calorie rich foods, which is why some individuals may comfort or stress eat. Hypnotherapy can weaken the use of our survival instincts when we do not need them, and as a result will reduce stress eating.
