Anxiety
Anxiety is an instinctual response created by the mind in reaction to overwhelming, stressful, threatening, dangerous or unfamiliar situations. Anxiety helps us stay alert and quickens our reaction time and decision making in some situations. However, more often than not, humans are stuck in an anxious style of thinking in unnecessary, non-threatening situations, where we do not need this survival response.
Causes of anxiety may be from genetics, life experiences or circumstances. What we consume can also create increased anxiety such as foods, drinks, caffeine, alcohol, drugs. Hormonal production can also cause enhanced anxiety.

Anxiety can disturbs sleep, some find it difficult to fall asleep, others will have a disturbed sleep where they wake during the night and can't get back to sleep.
